...Mercia's red litter...
UPDATE 6 February 2005
Here some news on a happier note of Red Rooster's litter
brother Ch Airescot Red Rum.
During 2004 he won the Swedish Whippet Club's prestigious Triple Prize
with merits from as many as five sports, in spite of only three being required:
Show, Whippet Race, Oval Tracking, LC and Blood trail.
Almost 9 years old he was also 5th on the Top Winning
Whippet Race list 2004,
having run only five times.
Red Rum was pictured by Malin Westlie at the Stockholm show
in 2004,
and his owner Håkan Lagerström made this beautiful drawing of him.
Congratulations from his proud breeder!

Airescot Red Rum, owned by Inger Gelius,
Sweden, is the fifth one in Mercia's
very successful first litter by Ch Sporting Field's Irish Mist.
Red Rum has hardly been shown, but has done very well at racing.
Five years old he won his first CC and BOS at an all breeds SKK show in May
2001, judged by Kari Engh, and in the beginning of September he won his second
CC and BOB at a Swedish Sighthound Specialty, judged by Ann-Marie Thomassen.
BOS to him at this show was his niece, Ch Airescot Royal Occasion.

We are very proud of this "red
litter" as they have all done so well both in the show rings
and as producers, in Sweden, Norway, Greece and Argentina.
From a repeat mating Danish Ch Red Ensign, owned by kennel Sea Leopard's,
was top winning whippet in Denmark for 2000 and is the sire of a current
young top winner in Denmark, Sea Leopard's Golden Statue.
