Only a few days ago we were happy to report on the birth of a lovely Whippet litter.
Today we are very sad to report on the death of the great great grandfather of these puppies,

 our beloved "Irish", US Int Ch Sporting Field's Irish Mist.

He had just celebrated his 13th birthday, but for some time now he has not been well,
so we decided that we would not let him suffer after having lived such a long and wonderful life.

For many years Irish has been living with Pernilla Råberg and Peter Mellström,
who have given him the best life a dog could wish for.

Irish has been a very influential stud dog, and many breeders have appreciated to have him

in the pedigrees of their breeding. Most of his progeny have inherited his strength,

UPDATE October 19, 2003

Yesterday Ch Airescot Serene Silver was bred to Irish,
her greatgrandsire. Pedigree of the hoped-for litter.

UPDATE June 30, 2003

Irish is now 9 years old, still going strong, and winning well in Veteran class.
He is siring litters now and then, but wouldn't mind doing it more often.
He is now co-owned with and mostly handled by Pernilla Råberg, 
with whom he has been having a wonderful home for several years.

UPDATE June 11, 2001

Now 7 years old, Irish is having a comeback in the showrings in Veteran class
(at the Swedish Whippet Club shows in Senior class).

At the Swedish Whippet Club Open show June 2nd, judged by Mary Lowe (Nimrodel),
 he was second best of the 47 males entered, and he was also BIS-senior.
