...Rascal's progeny...

Ch Airescot Ruby Rascal's progeny

UPDATE 26 November 2006

More than a year since this page was updated! Shame on me!

Tonmawr La Petite Ballerina, "Holly"(see details of her breeding in earlier Updates below) is now since long a British champion,
Rascal's first GB champion progeny, but not the last one and several more are on their way.
From Holly's latest achievement, winning BOB of some 170 Whippets at the World Show in Poznan,
we just received this picture taken by Gilbert, Belgium,
showing Holly with her breeder/handler Paul Jones and the breed judge Ferelith Somerfield.
Holly was also among the last six to be pulled out in the Sighthound Group, by Kenneth Edh, Sweden.

UPDATE 20 October 2005

At Driffield Championship Show last weekend Tonmawr La Petite Ballerina JW
won her second British CC,  judged by Keith Thornton,
and many more of Rascal's young progeny in England and Ireland continue to win
or get highly placed in their classes.

UPDATE 29 September 2005

More than a year since last update on this page, but during this year I have reported many times
under Updates about Rascal progeny wins. Now it seems high time to say a few words on this special page for his progeny.
From one of his first  litters after his arrival in England ex. GB and Irish Ch Colooney Silver Silas, Viv Coulter's own
C. Chiquitita is already an Irish champion, her litter sister C. Winner Takes It All, owned in Sweden by Airescot,
is now a Swedish and Danish champion, and a third litter sister, C. Mama Mia, owned in Ireland by Pamela Hunter,
won the Res. CC at the Belfast Championship show last weekend, judged by Mrs. C Osborne.
This was only her 4th show ever and she has just finished rearing her first litter (by Ch Airescot Bob Fest).

But that was only reporting on one of the many litters Rascal has sired since his arrival in England.
His early progeny there is now out of puppy class and has started serious competing,
and many of them have already been winning or highly placed in their classes.
But now, at the Northern Ireland Whippet Club Show, Tonmawr La Petite Ballerina JW  (ex. Nevedith Foxtrot Flair at Tonmawr)
just won her first CC, judged by Frank Kane, and at Darlington Championship Show Zola Rawson
gave the Res. CC to Oakbark Mystery Romance at Brownsover (ex. Ch Oakbark Mystical Pride).

UPDATE 17 August 2004

Again at the Hound Association Championship and Bournemouth Championship Shows in England
a bunch of Rascal's puppies ex. various bitches have been winning extremely well.
One of them is the male Lotsmoor Wizard. He also won the Puppy Stakes at the Hound Association,
competing with 105 Hound puppies, and thus qualified for the finals in London in January.
Wizard was bred by Peter Young ex. Modish Run From Love To Lotsmoor.
Interestingly enough she is a daughter of a Swedish Tintavon bitch exported to England,
by Ch Airescot Fandango ex. Ch Signum Something's Got To Give.
Hopefully we'll soon have a picture of Wizard to publish on this website.

UPDATE 18 July 2004

Several of Rascal's English bred puppies are now being successfully shown in the rings.
At Windsor Championship Show the first weekend in July puppies from six different litters by Rascal
won their classes or were highly placed. Pictured below is Tonmawr La Petite Ballerina, "Holly",
owned and bred by Paul and Joan Jones ex. Nevedith Foxtrot Flair at Tonmawr.
"Holly" won the Minor Puppy bitch class at Windsor, judged by Mrs. McKenzie, Australia.

UPDATE 20 April 2004

At the Northern Counties Whippet Club Specialty in England April 18th
one of Rascal's daughters, Collooney Chiquita ex. Collooney Silver Silas,
 won Best Puppy in Show.
She is seen here with the other BIS-winners:

UPDATE 16 February 2004

Great success for Ruby Rascal's progeny in Sweden, Norway and England.
Last weekend our bitch COLLOONEY WINNER TAKES IT ALL won  Best Puppy In Show
of some 300 puppies of all breeds, first time out in the show ring.
And this weekend she repeated her success at the Swedish KC International show
in Gotenburg, winning BIS-2 puppy in huge competition.
For pictures go to the Collooney sisters' page.

In Norway last weekend BOB and BOS went to Ch COURTBOURNE RAWHINS
and AIRESCOT BRILLIANT BARGAIN, both sired by Rascal.
This CC gave Bargain her Norwegian title.

And, last but not least, yesterday, at the Hound Show Open Show in England
Ann Beckett-Bradshaw's 7½ months old bitch puppy Chrispan Dancing Queen at Hutaka
was not only Best Puppy in Show of the 450 entered hounds but also overall Best in Show.
The breed was judged by Annette Oliver, BIS-judge was Geoff Corish.

UPDATE 10 December 2003

At the Whippet Club of Wales Breed Specialty
puppies from Rascal's two first British bred litters had reached the necessary age
of 6 months to make their show debut. Seven puppies from these two litters were present,
and it was great to see two of them win BIS and BOS Puppy of the 59 puppies entered.

BIS Puppy was HUBBESTAD  ROCK 'N' ROLL at MARCHPAST
ex. Hubbestad Femme Fatale, bred by Gerd and Geir Flyckt,
owned and handled by Stephen McMorrow.

Best Bitch Puppy was SAZKIA JADE OF SIOUXLINE
ex. Craigavad Mona Lisa With Siouxline, bred and owned by S Ergis and J Manley.

Below is a picture of the two puppies plus a separate one of Rock 'N' Roll.

UPDATE 18 November 2003

*At the Swedish Sighthound Club Specialty November 16th
Eli -Marie Klepp, Norway gave the dog CC, his second, to Rascal's son
Airescot Brilliant Bistro (ex. Ch Paris Beatrix of Tiber),
owned and handled by Gunnel Eksvärd, Sweden.
Bistro is also the proud sire of the BIS-winning puppy at this show:
Bokellas Charmeleon ex. Ch Bokellas En Kvinna Av Stål.
Furthermore Bistro's litter sister Brilliant Broomstick was 4th Best Bitch.

The Bitch CC and BOS went to Albicans Hera Karsk ex. Ch Albicans Elanora.
Only a couple of days ago she celebrated her second birthday, so she took her first chance
to qualify for her title by adding this CC to her several previous ones.
Hera is handled by her breeder Åke Cronander, who co-owns her with Gunnel Lönn.

*Rascal's Irish daughters have now been given their own page,
"Frida's and Agnetha's page",   with all details plus pictures of them and their dam.
On this page we'll just keep Annika Janson's picture below of Frida on the sofa
with her granddam Ch Airescot Red Redee.

UPDATE 25 September 2003

From one of the, until now, seven litters sired by Rascal in England
two litter sisters from the Collooney kennels in Northern Ireland
have just joined the Airescots in Sweden.
They were born June 16th and their breeder is Viv Coulter.
The litter consisted of one male and seven bitches and all the puppies
were given names from ABBA songs.
Our two are Collooney Dancing Queen and Collooney Winner Takes It All.
We thought it appropriate to call them  Frida, left, and Agnetha.
To see their pedigree click here. Below is a first picture of their sweet faces.

UPDATE 10 July 2003

Long time since last update here, but Rascal's progeny have been doing
well, in Scandinavia as well as in Canada and the US.
Between them they have won many CC's/Points towards their titles,
a couple of the oldest ones have already gained their titles.

Here is a picture of Albicans Hera Karsk (ex. Ch Albicans Elanora), still only a youngster,
after winning BOB, the Group and BIS-2 at the SKK All Breeds show in Visby July 7th,
all the way through judged by Sighthound specialist Göran Bodegård, Sweden.
Hera is handled by her breeder/owner Åke Cronander. She is co-owned by Gunnel Lönn.

UPDATE 15 September 2002

Before leaving for Canada in December 2001 Rascal, in spite of his young age, sired seven litters in Scandinavia. It might be some kind of a record
that six puppies from five of these litters have won BIS Puppy
at All Breeds Shows, some of them even more than once:

Courtbourne Rawhins ex. Ch Paper Moon's Parisian Mam'sell
Skarnbro's Dream Devine ex. Paper Moon's Panache
Airescot Bistro ex. Ch Paris Beatrix of Tiber
Airescot Brilliant Broomstick ex. Ch Paris Beatrix of Tiber
Albicans Hera Karsk ex. Ch Albicans Elanora
Hot Isle Extreme Empress ex. Hot Isle Bisquit
and
Hound's Dance the Blues ex. Gazolin Krokett has won BIS-2 Baby Puppy
at a Swedish Sighthound Club Specialty

By August 2002 most of these puppies have now passed their puppy stage,
and it remains to be seen if they'll live up to their early promise.

A couple of them
have already started their official show careers
with considerable success:

In Norway Courtbourne Rawhins, pictured below, has won several CC:s,
also with BOB and group placing, bred and owned by K, R & S Hoff.
