JASON PROGENY

UPDATE February 1, 2004

Many of Jason's progeny worldwide have done well since last update,
but right now we have had the good news that Jason was Sweden's Top Winning stud dog
for 2003, and that his daughter, pictured below, Ch Woodbrook's Talunga Shiraz
(ex. Ch Woodbrook's Peppermint Patty) was Finland's Top Winning Whippet for 2003.

UPDATE 29 April 2002

This page has not been updated for a long time, but updates about Jason's
Airescot progeny will be found at their dams' pages.

Today's update is about Samantha's Stanley Cash  (ex. Fennaur Eko),
the first one of Jason's progeny to win his Swedish title
first time out after his 2nd birthday and thus eligible to qualify.
He has won several CC's from Junior and Youth class
with his clever owner/handler Mai Fernquist,
and we congratulate her and the breeder of "Azzar", Gun Welander.
At this International Swedish KC show in Västerås "Azzar" also
won the CACIB and was BOS under judge Agneta Kappers (Kapriol whippets).

Second and third Best dog in this line-up were also by Jason:
Khalibadh Vårregn (ex. Ch Khalibadh Frostfjäril) and
Airescot Sapphire Stallion (ex. Ch Lorricbrook Monopoly) resp.
and to complete the picture the winner of the bitch CC
was also by Jason, Airescot Serene Silver (ex. Ch Airescot Royal Occasion).

UPDATE 3 August 2001

This year's Skokloster/Tammsvik weekend was a great success for Jason's progeny
as they topped all of the big classes in which they were shown, and three of them
were even placed among the five best males and five best bitches
of the nearly 200 whippets entered each day.

Airescot Ruby Rascal was third best male of 75 males judged by Roger Stock (Courthill),
and he was also fourth best male of 69 males judged by Ingela Kyrklund (Colt's).

Hot Isle Depend on Me was fifth best male judged by Ingela Kyrklund
and his litter sister H.I. Daydream Believer was Roger Stock's second best bitch.

Pictures might come later.

UPDATE 10 July 2001

Samanthas Stanley Cash continues on his winning ways and have now won
several CC:s from Junior class, A. Spectacular Sapphire has won two CC:s,
while Hot Isle Depend on Me, Hot Isle Daydream Believer, Airescot Ruby Rascal
and Airescot Refined Ruby have all won their first CC:s each (from Junior class).

In Argentina Jason's daughter Woodbrook's Chariot of Fire
has already gained her Argentinian champion title.

UPDATE 17 April 2001

After their numerous big wins as puppies
two of Jason's Swedish bred sons have had successful starts
to their official show careers:

*At the Swedish Whippet Club Open show 31 March,
judged by Annette Stone (Khalibadh Whippets),
Hot Isle Depend on Me (ex. Hot Isle Cookie), made his debut in junior class
and won BEST IN SHOW of the 88 whippets entered in official classes!
He's pictured below with the judge
and his breeder/owner/handler Annika Janson.

* At the Swedish Kennel Club International Easter Show in Stockholm 15 April
Samantha's Stanley Cash (ex. Fennaur Eko) won the CC and BOS
from junior class judged by Whippet Specialist Larry Yúen, Malaysia.
(Only 12 months old "Azzar" was too young to receive the CACIB,
for which the eligible age is 15 months)
He was bred by Gun Wellander and owner-handled by Mai Fernqvist.

The above picture, taken at a Puppy show in January 2001,
is the first  and the last picture  featuring Jason with a progeny group in Sweden.
The four puppies here are out of three different bitches:
9 months old Airescot Ruby Rascal ex. A. Red Redee,
7 months old Hot Isle Depend On Me and Daydream Believer  ex. Hot Isle Cookie
and 5½ months old Airescot Spectacular Sapphire ex. Lorricbrook Monopoly

This page will mainly present non-Airescot Jason progeny.
News of his Airescot-progeny will appear on the pages of their dams:
Ch Airescot Emily Gray, Ch Airescot Red Redee,
Ch Lorricbrook Monopoly and Ch Paris Beatrix of Tiber.

It seems as if Jason is an exceptionally useful stud dog. When I had the opportunity to judge him
in Australia in October 1999, I fell in love with him, and when I saw some of his Australian
progeny, I was convinced that he would be perfect to combine with the Airescot Whippets.
Some of his best progeny in Australia are ex. bitches who have Ch Statuesque Personalised
and/or Ch Sporting Fields Irish Mist as grandsires or Ch Bohem Callas of Whippoorwill as greatgranddam. As we have several bitches from these bloodlines in this part of the world,
I was extremely happy to be allowed to borrow Jason for the year 2000, to show him
and to use him at stud. He has exceeded our expectations in all respects,
and it's with deep regret we send him back to his native country.
During his stay in Europe he has been bred to bitches of many different bloodlines,
and we are quite overwhelmed by all the enthusiatic comments on his puppies,
which we hope and believe will live up to their early promises.

We look forward to receiving many pictures
of his non-Airescot progeny to publish on this page!

Litter brothers Statuesque Eye Spy, "Handsome", and Statuesque Visionary, "Tally",
born in June 1999 and ex. Ch Statuesque Vision, whose grandsires are Irish Mist and "Person".
Handsome won a CC from Puppy class at Sydney Royal and was BOB at Melbourne Royal
when 13 months old. In February 2001 he gained his Australian title,
all points won under Sightound Specialists. He is owned by the Statuesque kennels,
while "Tally", a BIS-winner, is now owned by Denise and Tony Tuck, Australia.

********

In April 2000 Gun Welander, kennel Samantha, had a litter of 7 puppies
ex. Ch Fennaur Eko (Ch Fennaur Bax Blå Beryll ex. Ch Birkonbrae Summer Love).
One of them, Samantha's Smuggler, "Folke", stayed with his breeder and is pictured below
at 10 months. Like a couple of his litter mates he has already had success in the show rings.

In June 2000 Annika Janson, kennel Hot Isle had a litter of seven puppies
ex. Hot Isle Cookie (Ch S.F. Irish Mist ex. Hot Isle Bisquit).
Several of them have already done well at puppy shows.
E.g. Hot Isle Depend On Me
(below) was BOB, won the Sighthound Group and BIS-2
of some 500 puppies at an all breeds puppy show in January 2001.
He and two of his litter sisters also won BIS in the special competition
for "3 puppies from the same litter"
(also pictured below).

In February 2001 Didrik (H.I. Depend On Me) and his sister Dixie (H.I. Daydream Believer)
managed to win BIS puppy once each at two consecutive Sighthound Club Specialties,
judged by whippet specialists Agneta Kappers (Kapriol) and Mr. and Mrs. White (Baldrey) resp.
In the above picture, taken a month earlier, they are number one and two from the left.

Allsatin Swedish Love Affair, "Wanda", is one of a litter of six
ex. Greek Ch Allsatin Greta Garbo (Ch Airescot Cembalo ex. Ch Silkstone Olivia).
The litter, bred by George Kostopoulus, Athens, was born in July 2000.
Wanda, pictured below at 5 months, will hopefully  join the Airescots in Sweden
in March 2001. One of her litter brothers is in Finland.

From kennel Woodbrook's and Meri Pekarinen's Jason  litter in Finland,
born in March 2000, ex. Ch Woodbrook's Peppermint Patty,
Meri has kept the puppies pictured below:
Woodbrook's Talunga Shiraz, "Theresa"
and Woodbrook's Wizard of Oz, "Ronan",
who has won numerous BOB's and BIS-placings at puppy shows in Finland.

**************

From the litter of seven puppies born in April 2000 ex. Ch Khalibadh Frostfjäril
Annette Stone has kept the bitch Khalibadh Vårstorm ("Hedda"),
 pictured below at 5 months.

*****************

In December 2000 Marianne Bunyan in Germany had two litters ex. her two litter sisters
Ch Superfly's Pickaninny and Superfly's Unique, both mated by Jason within 24 hours.
One bitch puppy from each litter is pictured below at 4 weeks:
Superfly's Dancing the Dream and Superfly's Farewell My Summer Love.

Then, at 7 weeks, Pickaninny's entire litter to the left, Unique's to the right.
